Statul garantează exprimarea voinţei libere a cetăţenilor prin apărarea principiilor democratice şi a normelor dreptului electoral.
The British Embassy in Chisinau joins the UNDP project “Enhancing democracy in the Republic of Moldova through inclusive and transparent elections” (EDMITE) that was launched in autumn this year.
In the next 2.5 years, Moldova will have more accurate data from the State Register of Population to generate correct and reliable voters’ lists and will conduct more accessible elections for persons with disabilities and minority groups.

Chisinau, CEC - The electoral period for the presidential elections scheduled for autumn will begin on the 31st of August 2016. A decision on this issue was adopted today by the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. In this regards, deputies modified the decision no. 55 of April 1, 2016, by which the electoral period should have had to begin on the 30th of July 2016.
Chisinau, CEC – Monday, 27th of June 2016, Central Electoral Commission (CEC), confirmed by the Parliament Decision no. 144 of 17 June 2016, has chosen its new management.
Chisinau, CEC - The Central Electoral Commission has launched the application ”Local Councilors”. This database is a part of the function block ”Rotation” of the State Automated Information System – Elections (SAISE), developed to track the councilors in the local councils at all levels (municipal, district, etc.).
The implementation of the State Register of Voters has led to considerable improvement of electoral list. This is the main conclusion of a comparative analysis of voters’ lists for the General Local Elections from 2011 and 2015, released on 24 May 2016, in the context of CEC preparations for the forthcoming presidential elections this year. This analysis was conducted with the support of UNDP Moldova within the Project “Improving the quality of democracy in Moldova through parliamentary and electoral support”, funded by the Governments of Sweden and Norway.
Chișinău, CEC – Starting with 10th of May 2016, Moldovan citizens eligible to vote, from abroad, can submit the preliminary on-line registration for the participation in the Presidential Elections of 30 October 2016.
